Session 3 | Connecting Habitat in the Suburbs

Banksia Woodlands and Carnaby’s Cockatoos

Main Hall

1:40 PM – 3:00 PM

Explore the deep connections between people, place, and nature through two iconic elements of Perth’s environment: the endangered Banksia Woodlands and the threatened Carnaby’s Cockatoos that depend on them.

Participants will learn how urban communities can play a role in conserving these vital ecosystems from protecting remnant habitat to creating nature-friendly gardens and corridors that support cockatoo feeding and movement. Steve will discuss practical, collective actions that help ensure these landscapes and species remain part of our shared future.
